About DOOR5
DOOR5 is a youth field hockey club based in New York, but it’s more than a club. It’s an experience.
Our Story
Founded by Jamaican international Christopher Reid, DOOR5 is built on one belief: field hockey opens doors.
For Chris, the game gave him more than a university education, a national team career, and the World Cup stage. It gave him discipline, confidence, and a sense of purpose. It gave him a second family and a place to belong. It shaped the person he became, on and off the pitch.
Now he’s opening those same doors for the next generation, so every young athlete can discover what the game can do for them.
Our Purpose
Our doors are open, and opportunity awaits on the other side.
We’re also committed to growing the game in our communities, bringing field hockey to young people who may never have picked up a stick.

Our Values
01
Every player deserves a pathway forward.
02
Players grow through games based coaching in fair, age based groups, with room for advanced players to challenge themselves.
03
We build a team that believes in every player.
04
We build athletes who lead on and off the pitch.
Meet the Founder
Chris started playing at age twelve in Jamaica and began coaching while still in high school. He represented Jamaica’s senior national team at the Central American and Caribbean Games, co-captained Jamaica at the 2024 FIH Hockey 5s World Cup in Oman, and played collegiately at the University of the West Indies. Today he competes in tournaments all over the United States.
